We are currently looking for a number of people to fulfil a number of roles.
We are looking for the following:
Children’s activity assistants
Actors
Event and promotional staff
Drivers
Technicians
Handymen/women
General assistants
Most of the work is for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between now and the end of January and also weekdays leading up to Christmas. Some events may involve evening work.
We work in shopping centres throughout the UK so some roles may involve travel or overnight stays however hours and locations can be arranged to suit your availability. Pay and hourly rate negotiable depending on experience.
All roles are temporary / seasonal however may lead to additional work in the future. For all roles a driving licence would be beneficial but not essential.
Each of the roles are broadly outlined below...
Children’s Activity Assistants
Would suit somebody who may be currently working as a teaching assistant or play worker or somebody with a creative streak that loves to work with children. Duties will include working with small groups of children and encouraging them to take part in activities. Dressing up in costume may be required!
Actors
Would suit somebody with some acting experience to play the role of a number of children’s characters. Must love working with children. Duties will include interacting with children, encouraging them to take part in activities, telling stories and participating in general activities (all whilst staying in character!) . Some dancing or singing experience would be helpful but not essential.
Event and promotional staff
Would suit somebody who loves to meet the public, particularly children and their parents. Duties would include welcoming guests as they arrive and checking them in, assisting visitors as required, handing out leaflets or promotional items. You may be required to wear a uniform or a costume depending on the event. Will include work away.
Drivers
Drivers with their own reliable car would be preferred to transport staff to various shopping centres throughout the UK. Full clean driving licence and professional attitude to driving essential. May involve driving hire vehicles so aged 21 or above would be preferred. Depending on the event, you may be required to wait on site throughout the day before returning that evening. Some early starts inevitable. On some occasions there may be an overnight stay.
We are also looking for drivers with experience of driving large vans (3.5T) to deliver scenery and props to locations throughout the UK.
Technicians
People with some experience of working with professional sound, lighting or AV equipment would be preferred however some training can be given to the right applicant. You will naturally have a keen interest in technology, have a good practical skills and the ability to problem solve. Duties will include operating sound systems, lighting, projectors and LED screens as well as some installation work and possibly some carpentry or scenery work. A professional attitude is essential and you should also be customer focussed and approachable. May include some overnight stays and travelling throughout the UK. Own transport preferable.
Handymen / women
We are also looking for practical people to help with the installation of scenery and props at centres throughout the UK. Will include some work away and long hours. Practical skills are essential in this role along with an interest in creative design and installation. Own tools a bonus. Duties may include building scenery, installing animated promotional figures, basic lighting and electrical work, shop fitting and dressing.
General assistants
